Sun Burnt Tattoo...?
Over the past weekend i was out doors and got alot of sun. On one of my tattoos its got a few blisters , nothing mayjor. Its not in any of the coloring. You can't even really see it , you have to run your hand across it to even really know they are there. Is there any kind of cream i can use on it to stop it from leaving scars ?
OK ! first off my tattoos are not crappy and i have had then along time, been in the sun alot and this has never happen before . So chill..

Aloe Vera gel and cocoa butter are the best things you can use at this point. To prevent this from happening in the future remember to use a sunscreen with at least 45spf on your tatts before heading out in the sun. This also helps to prevent fading of the colors.

A week is still very raw for a new tattoo. Probably was a bad idea to do that. Who knows how it will turn out. Every persons body handles things differently. It's good that you get free touch ups for a year... you'll probably be needing to go back. I would honestly wait another 2-3 weeks and if it's messed up go in for a touch up. Or just give your artist a call.

If you don't mess with it (i.e. don't break the blisters) you should be fine. For god's sake don't put something oily like tattoo goo or A&D or anything like that on it now. If it hurts a little aloe vera gel but nothing else. Next time be smart and sunscreen up or your tattoo is going to turn to crap before you know it.......
Hey dufus...nobody said your tattoos were crap..haven't seen them, don't want to anyway.. What was said is that sun exposure especially OVEREXPOSURE is heavily damaging to ink. No debate on that simple fact. I'm perefctly chill about it. Keep doing what you're doing and someday not too far off we'll all read a post from you whining about how your ink looks all washed out. If you don't like what you hear stop posting in a public forum............

Hurts to think about it! I'm at high altitude and sometimes you only need to be outside 5 minutes before getting burnt...
If they aren't even noticeable and not in the coloring, you probably don't have anything to worry about. Maybe just some aloe vera if it hurts. My gut instinct would be to leave it be and see what happens. Your tattoo shop might have some better advice :)

Stay out of the sun if you have tattoos. use spf 45 and or a bandage to cover it or them up.
use any burn or scar creme of your choice. aloa vera may be a good thing too.

Rub vitamin E on it. It will soften the skin and prevent scaring.
