i dont get it...?

A zebra dies and goes to heaven. He ask fater Peter, who is at the gates, where he can find God because he needs to ask him a question. After finding God he asks him " am i white with black strips or black with white strips" which in reply God only says " you are what you are". confused he goes back to Father Peter who asks him"i am confused, i ask God if i am white with black or black with white strips, and he didnt tell me" Father Peter said " well what did he tell you" the zebra said " all he told me is "you are what you are" Father peter says " thats easy, you white whit black strips" the zebra replies " how you figure that. Father peter tells him " if you were black with white strips he would of told you " you is what you is"
