Best way for flowerbeds?
I want to build a raised flowerbed. What is the best way of doing so. I just want it to go to about a foot and a half or maybe 2 foot high. And I wanted to know what are the cheapest materials to do so, and not anything that will rot away eventually. But I still want it to look decent. The area I want to do it in, is about 8 foot by 5 foot. And I want it to be one box, not alot of different boxes.

k before you do anything get the black plastic edging from the store and put this in the ground around the perimeter of where your box will be. This stops the grass from coming up under your flower bed wall.
You can use wood that will last a long time and not rot. it is called pressure treated wood. It is usually tinted slightly green.
Go to the hardware or local home improvement store. Tell them you are looking at wooden beams that have been treated and you are using them for a flower box. This way they can go over your budget, how much you would need, other supplies and maybe offer you somthing that will be cheaper.
Then get ur dirt. Some peat moss which u will work into the top 1-2 inches after bed is full. Plant then add mulch to deter weeds from seed and help to hold in moisture. Good luck to you and i hoped this helped.

I had one built out of old brick in front of my porch and walkway. It was about 1ft 6 inches. It is beautiful so I added more under my bedroom window. Now I have old brick planters along the whole front of my house.
