my little sister has a bad period problem....she has one then doesnt have one for a few months then has a really bad one that makes her sick...she went to the doctors (shes 14) and they told her that they didnt have to do a pelvic inless she was sexually active...they took some blood to check a few things and gave her script for birth control to regulate her periods and make her more comfortable....

A pap smear seems somewhat drastic on a virginal 14 year previous. A pelvic ultrasound, with some blood paintings first would have been a greater appropriate place to commence. you do no longer would desire to tell the physician which you masturbate. this is beside the point. And if all you do is placed a finger interior your self, that may not be masturbating. Masturbating is bringing your self to an orgasm. women human beings do this via stimulation of the clitoris, that's located approximately 2 inches above your vagina. you will desire to get a e book on woman sexuality and have somewhat bit a examine. The pap smear and pelvic examination would be over and carried out with earlier you even comprehend it has started. The physician will placed a device called a speculum interior your vagina, and wind it open so he has a clean sight of the cervix. Then he will insert some thing like a protracted qtip interior to take a pattern of the cells around your cervix. as quickly as lower back, this seems very severe for you. rather, i will't think of any physician doing this to a virgin, and your mom would desire to truly be thinking why. My suggestion is to attend a women human beings's wellness sanatorium, the place they have woman medical doctors and ask for a 2nd opinion. The pelvic examination is the physician putting possibly 2 arms interior you, and a hand on your decrease abdomen and feeling the area of the uterus and so on. Please communicate on your mom approximately this, and ask which you bypass to a women human beings's wellness sanatorium. i'm in touch that a doctor would be taking such drastic measures on a girl your age.

Yes if your symptoms are that bad you should get a checkup. They may want to do an ultrasound to check if you have a variety of conditions which can cause this. Talk to your mum about why she is concerned and assure her your not sexually active! For a lot of girls with bad cramps etc they prescribe the contraceptive pill and maybe she thinks you want to be on that. But just ask her why she wont let you see one and tell her you are really concerned about your body. If she still does not give a reason and wont let you, i suggest you see your school nurse or councellor and explian the situation and they could help organise an appt!

Actually, your pediatrician can probably do more than you think, if you pursue it with him/her. I would talk to him about prescribing something else, since you couldn't get the other prescription.
I was about to get married by the time I saw a gyno. Actually, I think the suggestion is by age 18 or when you become sexually active, whichever is earlier.
I'm guessing your mom is kind of flinching at the idea of your being old enough to need to see a gynecologist. But something definitely needs to be done if the symptoms are affecting you this badly. Have your mom talk to your pediatrician, and ask for a referral if he can't help you. If she's still stalling, make a big deal about all of your symptoms until she takes you to the doctor.
Best wishes.

First, you should find out your moms reason for not wanting you to have one. If it is as simple as she thinks you are not old enough, you should call your doctor make an appointment for him or her to speak to the both of you about it. If it is something not valid like she just doesn't want to, with all o respect on your part ask an Aunt, or any other trusting woman to go with you on your own being that you are only 14 you can't drive yourself but as a young woman you have the right to have a pelvic exam and or ask for birth control without parental consent. Consult a school nurse or your public health department.

Yes you should get a pelvis exam. I started my period at 12 and my mom took me soon after. If your mom wont take you look up The womens Clinic on the computer or in telephone book. If you can get a way there. Its free and totally confidential. They cannot tell your mom.

SIt down and talk to her about it. My two older daughters went to get a pelvic exam earlier this year. The older one asked for it because she thought it might be a good idea for the future. I forced my second youngest to get one too, because I realized it was probably a good idea. SO, I suggest you talk to your mom. Ask her why, and talk it over with her.

Why can't you go yourself? Find the number of your doctor and call to make an appointment.

Try going to the pediatrician again...believe me if he can solve it you don't want to go to a gyno at your age. It is not fun at all.
