Can the chairperson of a meeting MOVE for a motion to be accepted?

I am in Australia, can you point me in the direction of any law that backs up your answer?

Thank-you.

I shall award 10 points for a good answer.

Do "ROBERTS RULES" apply in Australia? www.robertsrules.com

If you are talking about a meeting of some sorts, usually Robert's Rules of Order are accepted as standards for the meetings and then followed.

No. Rules of order don't allow for such a motion. See Robert's Rules of Order.
