    a) You are not going to get a last minute ticket, in the Summer, for cheaper. Forget that plan--it isn't going to happen. The demand is too great for those flights. Maybe in Feb. when there is less demand, but not the Summer.

    b) You need to find a 'bucket shop' for your tickets. These are travel agents, often catering to the ethnic communities, that buy like 100 tickets 'in a bucket' and then resell them to their customers. They get a deep deep discount because they buy in volume, and then they resell at a pretty good savings.

My advice is to take a look at the Korean language newspapers and see the ads in the back for flights. Even if you don't read or speak Korean, you'll find some phone numbers you can call and get some more information.

    c) Have you considered a cheap flight to Tokyo or China and then popping over to Korea? Due to the # of passengers heading to those destinations, there might be more competition for flights and lower fares than say US-Korea.

Cheap airlines to S. Korea from LAX????

The lowest fare for July on Orbitz.com is over $1300 non-stop

Sorry, but I don't think you will find the price you want to pay now.

In my experience waiting to the last minute doubles the cost. Buy your ticket now, you never no what fuel costs will be and they will just go up.
