Why are women on dating sites so awkward ?
They come on sites and say they just want a guy genuine and honest and that is that.
They then go on to reel off 1001 things that they look for in a man and it is like them looking for a needle in a haystack.
What are peoples view on this.

Well those sites typically ask you what you are looking for because essentially you are looking for someone who is compatible with you. I mean there are lots of good, genuine, honest guys out there but that doesn't mean that they are all a suitable match. I used eharmony (though I was very reluctant to do so) and the first guy that I met on there ended up being everything that I was looking for and things couldn't be any greater. I think that you shouldn't be so hard on women for having some sort of standards because it helps the other person know what they are really looking for, which can save a lot of time and heartache later on.

Have you ever looked at the mens' profiles? Trust me, they're every bit as specific as the womens. So the question is why does either gender do that?
IMHO, it's the nature of internet dating (and the way that the sites enable you to search) that makes people list their wants so specifically. Because, who knows? They may be able to find the 6 foot, blonde haired, blue-eyed physicist with an interest in 15th century architecture and muscle cars that they've always dreamed of...

Well i dont know the story between both of you all. But from what i see, perhaps she was jus online and decided to flirt with you a little bit. Not really to inform you that shes on, but to play around with you since she was already online. If anything thats a plus because it shows you were on her mind while she was online. Whats wrong with men is that they make more out of something that shouldnt even be analyzed. Just accept it for what it is and enjoy what little flirt that was. Bottom line its normal. Good luck!

Some of the questions they ask you on dating sites can be quite contradicting, thus what you read doesn't match with what whoever you're talking to tells you about theirselves. Dating sites suck in my opinion...it's not like actually getting to meet someone in person, you can't see who they really are over the net. For all you know, the person you're talking to could be some pshyco killer..

You see, when you have so much interest, they can be picky and choosey. They are looking for a needle in a hay stack, they are looking for that one person in a million that will be their dream partner. Thats what everyone wants.

To be honest , that is what the dating sites ask when you sign up with them ..
Explain some things that you would like to find in the person you want to meet ..... etc, etc.
Describe yourself, yada yada yada ......etc .
Source(s): And you should really tell the person who you are and what do you expect to get from adding a profile on that site... You see a nice picture and the person has to describe who they are. - JulesLv 41 decade ago
