if you get a email saying you won some money,would you need to send money to have a check sent to you?
i got this email saying i won $100,000.00. but enorder for them to send the check to me or deliver it i need to send some money to them. i throught if you won anything you wouldn't need to send any money enorder to receive your check.

Yeah it seems to me that if you won money, But they want money in order to send you the check, It's a scam

You are absolutely correct. If you're told that you've won something, but then are told that you need to pay to receive your prize, then you can be 99.999% sure that it's a scam.
You may even wish to forward the offending email to your email provider (on Yahoo!, forward to abuse@yahoo.com), so that they may be made aware of the scam and perhaps block others, who may not be as perceptive as yourself, from receiving it.

Its a scam. They'll ask for money. Thats how it works. Don't reply or give any info to them.

No, if you win any legitimate contest you will never be asked to send any amount of money.
