    2x+y=3

    subtract 2x from both sides.

    2x-2x+y=3-2x

    y=3-2x, or you can rewrite it in slope-intercept form as y=-2x+3

    First take the 2x off the left side by subtracting 2x from both sides. That leaves you with y=3-2x. That is your answer

    Okay, this is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

    2x+y=3

    try to isolate your variable (y). Use the order of operations backwards, so you would start with addition/subtraction.

    2x+y=3

    -2x -2x

    ________

    y= -2x+3

    Does that help ?
