CLOMID TABLETS???? HELP, Serious Answers Only Thanks :)?

Please help, i have PCOS and am infertile and my doctor has put me on 1000mg of Metformin and Clomid 50mg to try and get me to ovulate, he told me to take Clomid on my 2nd day of menstruation, however i bleed really heavy yesterday ( Day 1 ) and today ( Day 2 ), i have stopped bleeding, because it is a saturday my specialist is not available, i was wondering if anyone else had this same thing happen to them or if i should be even taking Clomid whilst not bleeding?? Any help would be appreciated?? Thanks

From what I understand about Clomid, it's supposed to help produce / release the egg. It technically shouldn't have anything to do with the shedding of the lining (your period).

I'm not familiar with the other one you mentioned, though (Metformin). I'd try to call an emergency line or advice nurse - NOT becuase I think it's an emergency, but just cuz you need some direction to what to do here. Even if your doc is not on call, you can usually get some advice through their people that are on call.

Good luck with this - i know it can be stressful !

It's the second/third day of your cycle - not necessarily while you are still bleeding. Normally you continue taking the Clomid after you stop your periods (for about 5 days). Just continue as your doctor prescribed and give him a call on Monday just to put your mind at rest.

    Good luck!!

As long as your bleeding isn't too bad (in that case go to the ER), cont to take the clomid tablets as prescribed and call your MD on monday.
