I'm trying to "vote" for best answers by hitting the thumbs up or thumbs down buttons but can't

Get 250 pts. and you'll be on level 2. Then you can "rate" answers with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down." Just click on the “thumbs up” icon to give someone a “thumbs up” and same with “thumbs down,” click on the icon to award one. It doesn’t cost you any points to “rate” an answer.

Answer a question and get 2 pts. Ask a question and lose 5 pts. Choose the "best answer" to your question and get 3 of those 5 pts. back.

Be chosen as "best answer" and get 10 pts. plus 1 bonus pt. for each "thumbs up" your answer received. There’s no deduction for “thumbs down.”

Vote for "best answer" on unresolved questions where the asker was too lazy to choose "best answer" and you get 1 pt. per question. You also get 1 pt. every day for just logging in. It’s as easy as that!

Rating is thumbs up/down which you cannot do till you reach Level 2 (250 points).

Voting is something else. You go to the Undecided Questions and you vote for a best answer. You get 1 point for every vote.

First of all, thumbs up/down have nothing to do with voting for best answer. Secondly, you must be level 2 or higher to use the thumbs feature to voice your opinion.

To vote for best answers, click the "Vote for undecided..." tab in any category. Those answers are open for voting. Click the "vote as best answer" button on the answer of your choosing. You have then helped vote for a best answer.

Yes, there is a place that you can find out why...it is called the guideline section. The reason that you cannot vote is because you are still level one...once you get past the point level required to reach level two you can start voting...but, in the mean time, you can go to resolved questions and vote on "best answers"...

The thumbs up and down only rate the question. You can't vote until the question is closed for answers.

That's because you're only at Level 1. Level 1 doesn't have voting privileges. Don't be discouraged, it's not too far from Level 2 and you will be there soon.

nicely, some human beings have stalkers that dislike them and it does no longer remember what they mentioned it would be an automated thumbs down. i assume they parent their entire existence circles around those dumb thumbs and that they might basically be overwhelmed in the event that they have been given a thumbs down. this is sort of humorous incredibly.
