Lawn Mower Repair?
B&S engine dies under load. I have followed the manufacturer recomendations for adjusting the carburetor to no avail. Mower is 12 years old and yearly maintenance has been done religiously.

If it dies under load, it could be running to lean... Put the choke on about half way, and try it, if that doesn't work, put the choke on all the way. If it works good either way, that means you're getting too much air, and not enough fuel. Most likely, your carb needs disassembled and cleaned, but you could also have a leaking carb mount gasket.
You could also have a problem with your governor not controlling the engine properly... If that's the case, you would have to take it in, that's too extensive to try and explain over the int'net.
*P.S.* I forgot one thing... If this is a twin cylinder engine, and one coil goes dead, it will still run smooth and fast like normal. But when you put it under a load, it will bogg down and want to die out. Check for spark on BOTH cylinders, if it has two. (and BOTH spark plugs working.)

New mowers cost under $300. Assuming 12 yrs like your last one, your paying $25 bucks a year. You probably spend more than that every year trying to keep the old one working.

Take mower to repair shop. They can perform a compression test & leakdown test on engine. Possible worn rings or blown head gasket. Can be done for about $30.00.

I agree, there is dirt, debris and rust interior of thechronic wheels. that's retaining them from ratcheting once you're trying to push it. Take them aside and clean them out. somewhat grease and your set to flow.

You may have some bad gas. try to drain it and refill it with fresh gas. If that doesn't work you may need to take it in for service.
