Calling Australia from America And Canada?

Hey Guys,

My parents are heading to America and Canada and are looking for a cheap calling card to call back to Australia on. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these. They are no very technology minded so the easier the better. Was looking at some sites i found through Google but they look a little bit dodgy. If anyone could tell me where you can buy these cards and are repuitable it would be apreciated.

A few years ago when i was in Canada i just bought a $10 card over the counter at one of their convenience stores or deli's as we know them and it lasted me for three lengthy phone calls back to Australia over a month.

They have all the info on how to use it and what number to go through on the back of the card but from memory there was a trick with the STD area code.I had to leave a digit off i think eg. my area code is '08' but i couldn't get through unless i left the '0' out.But i could stand corrected on that, its a bit hazy now

If you're interested, you can go with a service such as http://minicalls.com/ which is as simple as it gets.

The catch is though you need an American credit or debit card. Phone cards are hit or miss because they have all sorts of hidden fees and catches.

With http://minicalls.com/ you get a clean flat rate without any of the hassles of a phone card. You don't even have to dial a pin and you can use it from any phone. Rates are ridiculously cheap to Australia. You can use the service from both US and Canada (the access number is the same).

Check them out and let me know if you have any questions because I already use the service.
