When are all new TV's required to have a digital tuner?

Over the air TV broadcasts will be digital only beginning in Feb. 2009. By what date must all TV's, including the smaller ones, have a digital tuner?

Currently there is no date set by the FCC to make all TVs digital. The reason why they haven't set a date for this is because you will still be able to use an analog TV with any cable TV system in the united states. If you have an analog TV and want to get your off air channels the FCC will mail you a coupon to take to a retailer to receive a converter box for free. Now the analog TVs will slowly become obsolete at retail stores because the demand will not be as great. One way to put it look at tapes and Cd's or VHS and DVDs..Look below for more info. I hope this helps..
