my Macbook Pro charger is breaking...?

Little silver wires are poking out of my charger, at the place where it plugs into the actual laptop. It's completely falling apart, which is strange because I take very good care of my computer and all of its parts. It still works fine, however, but the wires make me nervous.

My laptop is fairly new, less than a year old. I have the AppleCare protection plan. Were I to go into a Mac store, would they replace my charger for free?

Not to worry, Apple's been receiving a glut of these problems lately and will more than likely fix it for you with little ado. Apparently there's something wrong with the materials they used in the construction of the magsafe port that wears out quicker than normal. Take it to your local Apple store or call their hotline (1-800-692-7753, if I recall correctly), and they'll work things out for you.

Well, hey, what do you expect with Crapple products? Steve Jobs designs these things to fail on purpose, so you will NEED to spend $100 every time you need a new one. Same reason he designed the iPods and other iGarbage with non-removable batteries, and designed those to only last a fwe months before they no longer hold a charge and need to be professionally replaced. Get rid of the Macintrash and buy yourself a good Windows laptop, like an HP, ASUS, or Toshiba. Steve Jobs is laughing at you all the way to the bank. Avoid his products like the plague. They're all hype, and nothing else. Strip away the media hype, and you're left with a pile of garbage that's just as prone to failure (even more so) as anything else.

Yes. They will replace the charger for free as long as you have apple care.
