"The short answer is "First visit by first birthday," according to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. America's pediatricians agree."

My son went to the dentist for the first time at 12 months and he had issues with his first year molars coming in and by 15 months had to have a procedure done. He has been going every 6 months since he was a year old. He also had two injuries to his mouth and they did xrays to watch for signs of damage in his adult teeth as they were growing in.

It's very important to establish a dental record for your child as early as possible. Additionally, it helps ease the fear of going to the dentist if the relationship is established early on. Your first visits will just be for them to check the mouth and brush their teeth with a regular toothbrush. They will give you advice on areas you need to work on and how to more effectively keep your child's mouth healthy. There are a lot of excellent pediatric dentists out there, I would recommend you ask around in your area.

I am a pediatric dental assistant we usually recommend that your child get introduced to the dental office atmosphere at 2 1/2 and make they're cleaning at 3 years old. make sure you find a pediatric dentist for your child because seeing a general dentist or a bad one may scare your child and then they'll get scared every time!

It is generally recommended that they go to the dentist at 13 months, even if they don't have any teeth yet. Hopefully, you are brushing their teeth already! I would call your dentist to see what he or she prefers as an age for a first visit.

    Good luck!

MY DAUHTER GOES TO DAYCARE EVERY SINCE SHE WAS A BABY. AND 2 MONTHS BEFORE HER 1ST BIRTHDAY, THEY SUGGESTED I START TAKEING HER. SO SINCE HER 1ST BIRTHDAY I STARTED TAKING HER. PLUS THAT IS USUALLY THE AGE THEY ACTUALLY HAVE SOME TEETH.

Mine was around four years old when I started taking him. Of course, if they are having any problems you should take them sooner.
