What are some of the feelings associated with being an adopted child?

Whats it like? What are some of the emotional problems if any that adopted kids have to deal with...I have a Client who is adopted and I need some insight beyond what I already know. Thanks

I was adopted when Iwas 5 days old. I have never met my birth mom or dad. But I don't think of my parents as my "adopted parents." They are my parents. I love them just as much as I would my birth parents if the had kept me. And they love me just as much, too. I also have 4 brothers and a sister that they adopted because they could not have kids. And we make a great family. My birth mom wrote me a letter when I was a aby explaining why she gave me up, and I am grateful to her that she did what was best for me because I have the best parents anyone could ever ask for.

When you are adopted you go through tough times because you feel like you dont belong there and you feel like you are being treated differently than anyone else in that house hold so I hope this info helped.

Most often I hear the question, "Where did I come from?" or another question of belonging. They would like to know where they came from, or why the person who they would've been with originally no longer wanted them.
