Is it possible to retrieve data off a corrupted floppy disk?

I backed up important data onto several floppies quite a few years ago. I was able to access all of them except one. That one is telling me the disk wasn't formatted, which I know is untrue. It originally held my daughter's science fair project. I reformatted it and saved my own work on it. Are there any programs out there that can "read" what may have once been on there?

there are ways of getting it off - but it requires equipment that isn't readily available.

they often use it to recover illegal data (like child porn) off of peoples hard drives/floppies etc.

even if it has been overwritten several times, they can still recreate the data from it

you might check with a few local data recovery places (its turned into quite a lucrative career for some people) but I can gaurantee they will charge a few bucks.

Now you've formatted it and written to it it is very unlikely to be able to retrieve much that would be usable. That said if anything can The old version of Norton utilities may have been successful
