cinco de mayo fiesta?

Do you know what happened on may 5th?

Some war between Mexico and France and we won.

Did you know, that here in Mexico, we do not make parties or anything like that?, is just a common day, it is not even an official holiday

Update:

Our Holiday for Mexican Independece is Sep 16th, and we do celebrate that date big

Update 2:

It is wierd, couse we like to party as much as the next guy

But we (I mean the country in general)only do parties for our independence day (sep 16th), Christmas eve (Dec24th) and New years eve (Dec31st).

Ofcourse we may party for our birthdays, graduations, expecting moms, new borns, etc.

Thats too bad I remember lots of Cinco de Mayo festivals in Mexico.(Iuse to live in Southern Texas there were a lot of them there too.We have a large population of people from Mexico here where I live in Canada and they celebrate it too....Sounds like you are being deprived a few Coronas.

    Yeah, I know.

It's just an excuse for people to get wasted.

It's another excuse for the bars and hospitality industries in America to make money off the people that are getting wasted. It's all about money in America.

I graduate on that day, so I guess I will have a bit of fun. That's my reason.

I've heard that before. Growing up in Los Angeles we always celebrated it. I think its just another excuse to drink and party, lol. But hey, The Oscar De La Hoya fight is this Satruday, lol.

Well that is some somber news. Why not make it a party?
