What are the pro's and con's of having a Top Secret clearance?
My employer wants to get me a Top Secret clearance with polygraph. I know this will make me really marketable (I do IT work in the DC suburbs) but I have also heard there are some down sides to it, like not being able to travel out of the country as often as I might like. If you have a clearance, could you please share your experiences with international travel, as well as any other positives or negatives? Thanks!

There are some countries you cannot visit. For example when I was in I could not go to Russia. There are only positives. As a civilian you will have more freedom than I did in the military. In the military I had to be a real girl scout in all areas of my life. Lose the clearance you lose the job.
