Hate to waste points on a list of stupid answers, but when President Bush leaves office in 2009?
Who will the democrats rile against? My point being quite a bit of the focus of the current political struggle seems to be about President Bush being stupid, inept, or whatever. Assuming (for this question) another republican gets into the office (not a remote occurrence) will he/she automatically become stupid, inept etc?
For AustinGirl - loved Austin when I was younger. I think I go out of my way to judge people on their merits and not on the herd mentality. I try to give credit where it is due. If the Dem's win, I will judge the winner on his/her performance on things they can control rather than blaming everything that happens in government on them.
For Bush_is: There are actually two women who have draft candidacies in public. They are both long shots but someone in the US is trying to draft them so again to be fair and inclusive, I said he/she – perhaps I was to politically correct for you.

No, he will have to prove himself as such.
Bush will still be a target, just b/c he's gone, the reverberations of his policy will be felt for a long while.
My question to you is this, when the Dems. inevitably win the pres. in 2008, are you going to blame them for the gagglef*** that Iraq situation will inevitably be, or will you blame the man who put us in the situation in the first place. Dems aren't miracle workers, you know.

Of course. Welcome to the wacky world of politics where nothing really gets done and illusion is all. Each party has their own schpiel...but the Democrats (as long as I can remember) has been "We're smarter and the Republicans are dumb and inept!" Regan was dumb. Nixon was dumb. Quayle was dumb. Both Bushes...dumb. The only time they tried something different was with Ford...he got to be a doofus AND a physical clown (this from the only president that I know who was offered tryouts with the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions. He was an amazing athlete.)
Since 1969, there have only been 12 years of Democrats as president...one term of Carter and 2 of the Arkansas wonder boy. I guess that strategy has really worked out for them in the long run.
And just for the information of the younger folks...the Democratic party is behaving just like it did after Nixon's resignation and only because they regained control of the congress. They can't afford another Carter fiasco.

I'm not sure that will be the same card they play but it will be something like that for sure. There will probably be more regime talk and power hungry talk. It's always going to be something.
By the way, I wonder how many of these people that say that Bush is stupid have graduated from a school like Yale.

no. most of the rep canidates so far have a decent grasp of the english language and most of its grammatic principles.
For the past 20 years each side has hated the other side's leader for one reason or another. this isn't a democrat issue, reps hated clinton too (even though the things he did didn't harm and effect people the way this administrations indisgressions have)
I think during this presedency has been more of a clear divid of left V red and the anger directed at one individual.
most other presedencies spread the anger and disagreements around some.

After almost 8 years of incompetence, Bush really deserve it.
There wont be any riling against republicans because Democrat going to win the presidency.
Now the main question is would the Republicans blame Bush failed policies and fck up war on the next, Democrat, president.. just like they are blaming Clinton for all the problems caused by Bush now?

You seem to be under the misguided impression that everyone opposed to Bush supports the Democratic Party. Personally I feel that the Republicans and Democrats are interchangeable and deserve one another. The former have a disastrous platform, and the latter have no platform, therefore giving Bush carte blanche to do whatever he pleases, and then blaming him when things inevitably turn sour. The problem here is that your question is based on a stupid premise, ergo you're not in a position to complain about the answers. Have a pleasant day.

A lot of politicians, when actually faced with the real choices a president has, appear wishy-washy or two faced. Some of the campaign rhetoric doesn't look as practical in the harsh light of reality. When you get a president who sticks to his preconceived plan in spite of reality, you get the disconnect we have, now.
I, for one, will welcome a flip-flopper who has the intelligence to change his/her position in light of new information. (How's the surge workin' out? LOL, but bitterly...)
Don't worry your pretty little head about the Dems. They'll always find enough conservatives to battle with, in or out of the white house. Besides, if the fundies really back off, they always have ridiculous infighting to keep them occupied (Remember "I don't belong to any organized party. I'm a Democrat!").

It will go on for quite a while, considering that most of the cons on here blame 9/11 on Clinton. It's BS, but that doesn't stop the rabid Right-Wing Hate and Spin machine.

I don't criticize Bush just to criticize him. I want to be proud of my president, no matter what party he's in. I voted for Gore in 2000 but I still hoped that Bush would step up to the plate and be a great president. How can any American want less? I waited and watched to see if he would come into his own and become the kind of president this country needs and deserves. I'm still waiting.

As long as there's politics and religion there will always be something to gripe about as an issue.

That's the game of Politics!!! It doesn't matter who they are, if they are Republican the dems will hate them...And if it's a Democrat, the Repubs will hate them.
