I was raised in a military family living around the world as a young man. I joined the Army to be a Cavalry Trooper to keep it in the family as Vietnam was winding down. As a student of history and modern geopolitical situations I am somewhat of an enigma to my friends as I work in computer network management for a Fortune 500 company. I will read almost everything I can get my hands on but only will take time with real publications. I despise TV news programs and "Talking Heads". I love the military and miss the camaraderie and regret not staying in to possibly make a difference for the young guys now in Iraq. To those who have already moved on to Fiddlers Green ahead of me, I salute you. To my comrades I say “Ready and Forward”. To those who have never served I say "Your Welcome".
For all of you who think President Bush screws up everything he touches,?
Will you be more in favor or less in favor of the new senate immigration bill because he endorses it as a good idea. And for those of you who wonder why this is in politics rather than in immigration, I am wondering about the people who support/don’t support the President and not about the bill.
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs it not strange that the godless environmental wacko’s?
Are hypercritical enough to be building a replica of Noah’s Ark on Mount Ararat for publicity. Why not do something secular like a monument to the whale in Times Square?
6 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoHate to waste points on a list of stupid answers, but when President Bush leaves office in 2009?
Who will the democrats rile against? My point being quite a bit of the focus of the current political struggle seems to be about President Bush being stupid, inept, or whatever. Assuming (for this question) another republican gets into the office (not a remote occurrence) will he/she automatically become stupid, inept etc?
22 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoI noticed a story that says "Iran bans Western haircuts, eyebrow plucking for men"?
So do a lot of men get eyebrow plucking........
Also from the story and somewhat unfortunate use of the english language "Violators can receive lashes, fines and imprisonment." I take it that that is not eye lashes?"

Please note I did not say a Nuclear explosion and did say possible.
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIf you could own any WW2 aircraft from any country which would it be?
I go to the airshow at Oshkosh every summer and see quite a few of the old aircraft still flying in private and corporate hands. If money was not the object – which one would you want and why? I think one of the ME262’s that were just built or possibly the P-38 or FW 190.
26 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAre brushed nickle bathroom fixtures considered more trendy than chrome?
My wife likes brushed nickle for the fixtures but while redoing the entire bathroom - someone at a lighting store told her that brushed niclke was trendy. Now she wants to use something else - What do you guys/gals think?
7 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWithin the context of the government today in the United States is there a historical precedent?
for a religious court set up within a town or county or even a state. I am thinking of historical events within the United States that could be viewed as having set the policy or precedent? For the purposes of this question I am also thinking along the line of a court like a Muslim Sharia which seems to be in vogue in Europe currently. Would it have legal connotations here in the US remembering it is strictly by definition only between Muslims. I have read the reference so don’t really need it quoted back to me. I’m just interested in you opinion about another court which might have set a precedent and if you know of one – please a reference.
4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIf you were King for the day and could change one Law and only one Law:?
Assumptions:
Someone died and made you King for the day.
Congress and the Whitehouse would acquiesce to your desire for one change to the law
You could make the change in any law but it would not revert back later unless someone who was king at another time wanted to revert it.
What would it be – try to give concrete examples rather than stupid stuff.
This is for thinking about and not for flapping your gums – bonus points for references and cool quotes that are cited.
17 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoAnyone know why Guantanamo Bay Naval Base was selected?
