im the same way...they have meds at the airport that u can take. one is called dremamine (im not sure how its spelled) but it helps to calm ur nerves. i usually take it 20 minutes before getting on the plane, and it works wonders for me. or u can always get a couple of beers or some wine on the plane, it may get expensive but it could help. just remember to take deep breaths when u feel like ur gonna panic...

I also have a fear of heights and flying used to be terrifying for me, but you can not let some fear stop you from enjoying life. I now fly without any fear whatsoever and you can also if you just face your fear. The more you fly the less scary it will become, so I say just go without even thinking about it. The more you think about it the less willing you will be to go. Once you face this fear you will be able to enjoy life and have fun with your husband. Also, you do not want to take any pills, since that will only make your perception on flying all the worse. Good luck to you and I hope you have fun in Florida!

Ask for an aisle seat, that way you can look up and down the aisle if feeling too restricted and you do feel less claustrophobic that way, I had a massive fear of flying for the same reason but now I just ask for an aisle seat and feel so much better about it and have just come back from Australia, come on be brave your missing out on seeing the world, good luck.

Try using relaxation techniques i use this one but you can try others. Close your eyes clear your mind think of walking along a beach with the waves just lapping over your feet and the sun in the sky.

I think in this case you might want to attend a course offered by the airlines or seek help of a specialist psychologist.

If you go to you Doctor, they can give you some pills that calm you and make you sleep for your journey. Apparently they are really good. Two friends who are terrified of flying use them and they now do long haul flights.
