What would you do?

Would you take a job away from family but pays 120,000/ yr or would you take the same job near family however it only pays 80,000/ year??

Update:

Thanks all, this is not really an option yet..but in the near future..we do live away from family 1/2 way across the county (we've neem away from home for 7 years now!) and are lucky to be near one set of friends from home. But as for the rest of them I really do miss them and would like to raise our child near grandparents, etc...

if you are looking to make good money try computer technology..my friend does this for FED EX and makes like 80,000/year.

My hubby is why we are here and hes an Air Traffic Controller for the federal government..he doesn't make whats listed above yet...therfore this situation not really being an option yet..but over the next 2 years we'll have to decide.

Update 2:

ohh either way its the same job title (different settings and therfore different money!)

What job would you be happiest at? You love your family and want to be close to them, but every day happiest is a huge importance also. You are at your job with your co workers for probably 8 hours a day. Your level of contentment at your job is something to think about.

80 000 a year is not a bad income. I´d definitely take the job near my family - there many things money just can´t buy

i would go with the money. your family isn't going anywhere but the job can be taken by someone else.

what is the job that pays 120,000 a year. i am trying to pick a career that makes a lot of money.

Family is very important to me, so I would take the 80,000.00 per year and still have my family and close ones near by. I mean money can't buy happiness anyway right?

if it is your wife/husband and kids i would take the job paying less. but if it is your immediate family i would take the higher paying job... you have to branch out and begin your life independent of your family at some point.
