I had a computer stolen, I have the key code and disc, can I have Microsoft turn off the software.?

All I want to do is turn off the Windows XP, the person who stole it could not use it. How do turn it off.

In the future, I recommend you use a service like Computrace - kinda a lojack for laptops - this can trace it and locate it for you. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Within a few hours of your laptop being stolen, the thieves have completely wiped the HD so they can sell it easier.

sorry but this cant be done.

If you have any bank info or personal information on it, contact your banks and make sure there hasent been any strange activity.

I don't think so, it doesn't really work that way. Now if you had this, you might be able to do it.
