  • Who's Jazzed About F1 Coming Back to the US?

Starting in 2012, the USGP will be at a purpose built track near Austin, TX. For those who don't know Austin, it's not redneck. more like a Texas version of San Francisco. Very green and hilly area.

Hope they don't "Tilke" the track.

  • Is this one of the best aviation videos you've ever seen?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKU0uQki5Dc

This is an outstanding aviation video from AirVenture (Oshkosh). What do you think?

(No, I don't know the guy who made it, and am not connected to him)

  • Renault's One Race Suspension?

So, now that Renault has received a one race suspension, does that mean every time there's a pit screw up, like a fuel rig getting carried away, a mechanic's foot getting run over, etc., that team will get the boot for the next race?

Yes, Alonso drove back to the pits on three wheels. How many times has a driver done in the past. More times than I can count.

What's next, penalize teams if a car loses it's front wing, and is now dangerous to drive?

  • SBD Recovered. Isn't that great?

A salvage company recovered a Douglas SBD-5 from Lake Michigan, the plans are restoration and placed in the National WWII Museum. Looks to be in fairly decent condition.

  • Christians, can you defend one of your own?

Police have arrested a Sunday-school teacher in the killing of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, and say the woman owned the suitcase that held the California girl's body.

  • LDS Tax Exempt Status?

I was reading about LDS Food Closets. They're only available to LDS members. The food is provides from LDS owned farms, and packaged by LDS owned businesses.

So it seem that whatever charity LDS performs, is only for it's own members, and not society as a whole.

Why in hell should they have tax exempt status?

They're a private welfare system for members only.

  • Anyone Else Tired of the Same US Air Questions?

The same questions over and over by people too unintelligent to think that 100 other people have already asked the same questions about bird strikes, engine screens, ad nauseum. Do a bloody search!

  • Where is the Charity?

There are almost a million vets from Iraq and Afganistan war. The VA has a backlog of 800,000 vets seeking treatment. The VA doctors were given orders not to diagnose Post traumatic stress syndrome any more. They can't afford it. Oh, it gets worse. Suicidal vets ask for help and are told they have to wait about 8 weeks before they can be seen. So they go home and kill themselves.

WHERE IS THE RELIGIOUS CHARITY THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF?

Where are all the supposed "believers?" Why aren't their churches reaching out to these people, taking up collections so they can seek help? Not some BS spiritual guidance, but real help.

Right wing fundie's support the war, but I guess they don't support the troops.

  • Satan and the Bible?

    Here's an interesting philosophical question.

In the bible, and just about every other religious text, Satan is called the great deceiver, liar, the one who will lead you astray.

Now then. wouldn't it have been just the most perfect lie, if Satan had written the Bible? Make mankind believe it's the word of god, when it actually isn't? What other document had been responsible for more death and destruction in the history of mankind, than the Bible?

Seems like a document of the devil to me. It has done exactly what Satan would want.

You can't use the bible as proof of god's word, since it's not substantiated elsewhere.

  • Why Would You Vote For a Man who gives Up His Church to Get Elected.?

Obama just resigned from his church "with some sadness."

Is this the kind of guy we want in office? No backbone at all, gives up his church just to get elected!

He's been a member of that church for over 20 years, listened to it all, including the guest preachers, and now that it's an embarrassment to his campaign, he cuts them loose.

    What a backstabbing loser.

  • So Who Still Wants To Fly Southwest Airlines?

"Documents submitted by FAA inspectors to congressional investigators allege the airline flew at least 117 of its planes in violation of mandatory safety checks. In some cases, the documents say, the planes flew for 30 months after government inspection deadlines had passed and should have been grounded until the inspections could be completed.

The planes were "not airworthy," according to congressional air safety investigators."

  • Kids on MySpace at School?

If you haven't ever been over in the other sections, it seems most of the questions from kids at school seem to be how do I circumvent the MySpace blocks the school administrators place on school computers, or they want people to do their homework and research for them, so they can copy and paste answers without looking like they plagerized Wikipedia.

It might be time to block Yahoo from school machines. Yahoo isn't at all necessary at school.

Why don't they get off their behinds, stop being so lazy and do their own research and writing AWAY from a computer?

  • Troy, Schliemann or Wilkens?

Most know the Homeric legend of Troy.

There is also no actual proof that what Schliemann found is Troy, just his pronouncement that the ancient city he found was Troy.

What do you think of Wilkens contention that the fabled Troy and Trojian War was fought in England over tin mines.

He makes a pretty convincing argument. Homer's descriptions of geography and personal descriptions better fit northern Europe then the Mediterranean.

  • Where Would You Like to see the USGP?

If the USGP left that boring, Mickey Mouse track at Indy, where would you like to see it go?

I would love to see a purpose-build track at Las Vegas. The money is there, and land is there, adjacent to the Speedway if the proper deal could be hammered out. It's already the adult playground of the world.
