So Who Still Wants To Fly Southwest Airlines?
"Documents submitted by FAA inspectors to congressional investigators allege the airline flew at least 117 of its planes in violation of mandatory safety checks. In some cases, the documents say, the planes flew for 30 months after government inspection deadlines had passed and should have been grounded until the inspections could be completed.
The planes were "not airworthy," according to congressional air safety investigators."

Problem discovered, but not necessarily resolved.
Going that long without proper maintenance can leave a lot of problems waiting to pop out. Some may not become apparent now until there's a smoking hole in the ground.
I was an aircraft mechanic for eight years in the USAF.
SW has had no catastrophic accidents... YET. They have been lucky beyond belief, and the jury will still be out for awhile on this.

Have you heard of any Southwest Planes crashing? The pilot's and crew have just as much of a desire to arrive at the destination safely as you do, so if there was something unsafe they wouldn't fly. The shaking you experienced was turbulence. This is a normal part of flying and happens to some extent on just about every flight. Sometimes very minor where you don't even notice it to where you may get bumped around a bit. It has nothing to do with any issues with the engine. So you will be fine.

No taco guy it's "OceanFront Property in Arizona" Lol. The only thing I don't like about Southwest is there's no 1st class section or meal service & if you're not in the A or B boarding group: you're screwed finding a seat so ALWAYS print your boarding pass the day b4 online. I agree on other airlines also not getting any better reviews on their inspections of aircrafts as well.

This was just an administrative issue. The media appear to have latched onto it and made a circus of it. I don't see any reason to hesitate to fly Southwest as a result of this single, trivial media report. The airline still has a superlative safety record, it is one of the largest airlines in the world, and it has never had a passenger fatality or serious accident. That's a lot more important than one news article.

I've never wanted to fly Southwest Airlines - and I still don't want to fly them. I've flown them maybe 3 times before and found them to be rather sketchy, not to mention no friendlier than any other airline and no cheaper.

Problem discovered. Problem resolved. If you really think all the other airlines are that much better then I have some oceanfront property I'd like to sell you... in Kansas.
