Where is the Charity?

There are almost a million vets from Iraq and Afganistan war. The VA has a backlog of 800,000 vets seeking treatment. The VA doctors were given orders not to diagnose Post traumatic stress syndrome any more. They can't afford it. Oh, it gets worse. Suicidal vets ask for help and are told they have to wait about 8 weeks before they can be seen. So they go home and kill themselves.

WHERE IS THE RELIGIOUS CHARITY THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF?

Where are all the supposed "believers?" Why aren't their churches reaching out to these people, taking up collections so they can seek help? Not some BS spiritual guidance, but real help.

Right wing fundie's support the war, but I guess they don't support the troops.

Update:

Have a: I'm a vet, and I volunteer at vet outreach organizations. Polls (many of them) have shown fundies support the war more than anything else. So where are they now? In stead of funding missions somewhere, help out own.

What have YOU done?

Beleivers alone cannot afford to help every single person. The amount that they do in charitable organizations only hits about 10-25% of the actual need. Non-beleivers contribute almost equally as much and still cannot put a big enough debt into the various needs out there. While your so busy pointing fingers at specific people (and how do you know that every single one of them supports the war....I know for a fact that is not true) what have YOU done to help take care of the billions that are in major need?

I have volunteered at the VA Hospital, various homeless shelters, womens shelters, March of Dimes, my daughters are starting a group this summer that will knit scarves for us to pass out to the homeless in the winter (they are 7 and 9 years old), I volunteer at our main hospital, I also work with VITA (they do free tax returns for low income persons) AND I do work with the Humane Society. Vets aren't the only ones who are in major need, there are a ton of people who need help.
