How do I get my dog to quit licking?

My 1 year old pomeranian licks people OBSESSIVELY.

You can NOT get NEAR her, hold her, pet her, with out her LICKING.

How do I discourage and stop this?

Put some Tabasco sauce on your hand and let her lick it, then next time she will probably think twice remembering the bad taste from last time.

Plan B, call the dog whisperer :)

I don't know if you want to *totally* discourage her. Licking is a dog's way to acknowledge that you (or whoever) are the boss. You want this. If she licks more than a couple of times tell her "Enough" - and put her down and ignore her for a few minutes. Then pick her up - or have the person she licked who put her down pick her up and repeat the process until she gets the idea that when you say "Enough" you will put her down if she continues to lick.

    Hope this helps.
