Nighttime entertainment for Teens?

My husband and I will be bringing our 16 almost 17 year old daughter to New York City for the first time. She is used to going out at night to teen clubs because they allow that in the UK where we live now. Are there any places in the city where we can take her to mingle with other teens and still have a few drinks ourselves? We have already booked a show and spirit cruise trip and we're running out of nighttime ideas! I don't think she'll want to go to bed at 11pm! lol

Update:

oh, we'll be travelling there in June :)

NYC does not usually have "teen"clubs. but there are many fun things for you to do that dont involve drinking! what about going to ESPN zone and watching some games, u can have a drink and they can mingle around. There's also Madame Tusads House Of Wax. Plenty of museums, friday nights are family night sponsored by Target so its free admission at 5:00pm. Theres tons of street fairs downtown, shopping on Canal street. Midnight bowling at Lucky Strike in union square. Ton s of plays and movies to catch! I think you will find lots of stuff to do without bringing them to a club! good luck!

Although there are very few teen clubs in New York, some of the live music venues will let underage people in with their parents as long as they sit at a table and order food, rather than at the bar. I've done this successfully at Birdland in the past (a Jazz club) and a few other places as well.

When you get to NYC, pick up a copy of Timeout magazine and check out a list of late night live performances; a lot of them will say whether they are 21 and over, or you can call in advance to see if they allow accompanied minors at tables.

Some comedy clubs/shows will allow minors too. Also, during the summer there are a lot of evening outdoor events that have something for everyone, like swing dancing at Lincoln Center (with a tent for cocktails) or outdoor movie festivals, where you can bring a picnic dinner and a bottle of wine. Timeout will have a list of everything going on that week with age-appropriateness info--concerts, comedy shows, special events....

    Good luck!

Unfortunately there arent alot of teen friendly clubs in NYC. Depending on where you're staying, and what you have planned, she may not have too many options late at night.
