New egg allergy. I need some suggestions please.?

I know that vegans do not use products that contain eggs. My allergist told me to google egg allergies. The lists mention bread, pasta, beer etc. Is ALL bread, pasta and beer bad for me? Are there some brands that are ok? I also saw somewhere that sausages and some deli meats use eggs to hold the meat together. I figured this would be good place to ask!!

Update:

I am also allergic to shellfish and beef. All cause anaphalactic shock I need an epi pen for.

Only some pasta and bread has egg in it. Most brands of dried pasta actually don't contain egg. As for bread, it depends on what you usually buy. Lots of the sliced sandwich breads on the market have loads of things you wouldn't expect in them that fresh breads don't. I suppose some beers use egg white as a fining agent, although I've only heard of them using isinglass (fish gelatin). My brother grew up with a lot of allergies, and I'm vegan. You've gotta get used to reading labels to figure out which of your favorite foods you can still eat. Lots of products these days clearly mention if they contain any form of egg in them, but you should also look out for albumen. Here are some links to help you out. Like the previous poster said, anything vegan will be okay for you, but there are also a lot of non-vegan products catering to people with allergies.

I too have multiple food allergies. Eggs being 1 of them. Best advice is read the packaging of everything you buy..every time you buy it. Companies change their recipes with no warning & that can include something you can't eat.

NOT all bread, pasta have eggs..I didn't "know"ever beer did.

Look at Tinkyada Pastas(Rice ), Van's Waffles, Food for Life Rice Flour Tortillas. Just get yourself informed. In the beginning it seems like alot of work but your good health will be worth it.

Anything that says vegan on the label has no animal products in it. If you have a health food store near you go there and speak to the manager. I am sure they would be more than ready to help you out and give you info you need. They might also have group nights. A store near us does, they have different "nights" once a month where diabetics, vegans, allergy sufferers, lactose and gluten intolerant people get together and exchange recipes and ideas. Check out Yahoo groups for allergy sufferers. Good Luck!

not all. organic brands should be OK. A lot of stuff is made with eggs like cakes and pies and mayonaise, some cookies too.
