United States of America, what's wrong?

It sadens me to hear everytime that a teenager has gone into a school/stadium or wherever and they start shooting at everyone. Is there something that is wrong? Why is this mostly happening in USA? Is the pressure or the stress among the teendagers that much that they just want to kill innocent people? What's wrong?

    The reason behind school shootings is the steadily decreasing trust that kids have in "authority figures". I have been the victim of discrimination by school officials, because of them I was expelled from high school and not allowed to get my diploma, all because of the way that I dressed (in all black). It's obviously hypocritical, here they are, teaching kids in history class that america is the "greatest country on earth" because we have "freedom of speech", and then kicking kids out of school for expressing that right, granted to them by the constitution. Kids who are different will always be bullied in school, but the school administration should NOT support that persecution by joining in. In my opinion, school shootings happen because the kid's individuality is being suppressed, with herd conformity being reinforced, at a time in their lives when severe hormonal shifts are taking place in their brains, and their treasured illusions about fairness and equality are being brutally shattered before their very eyes by those whom they trusted to preserve order.

    The United States. Democratic status. Was the source of the controversy at Valley Forge. The founding fathers were democratic. The people who wanted a republic almost starved the entire American army out to prove their point. Then it was set up as a democracy for the people and Thomas Jefferson ended up speaking a lot about it. Then these losers called the puratins came in, representing the republic (big businesses). They fought for almost 100 years to reverse the constitution and all the equal rights stuff. Now you see it, they still try to make it a nazi or king james state. But most of what they have done is public. Because of their joker mentality, now many huge financial industry based entities have more power then people and actually contradict what America stands for. America is supposed to be a democracy, but because of the corrupt idiots who took unrestrained actions. Some things like the federal government. Even though they are a corporation. As a ruling body. It's just a mish mash of good people and dirty people who support business over people.

    We live in a corrupt society where the nations leaders are the biggest liars, hypocrites and most violent on the planet. The youth see this and figure if the people running the country are liars and violent, why should they be any different?

    And lets not forget about the violence kids see in the media. Many youth have two parents working and aren't home as often, thus the kids are being raised by tv, there is no adult supervision to filter to them what is real and what is not or what is good vs what is bad behavior. Also, parents are buying their kids all these violent video games at young ages. Kids by the age of 12 have seen so much violence via media outlets, they become desensitized to it. That is sad.

    Finally, community living conditions can play a role as well. There are obviously many factors that contribute to why the youth are the way they are today, but first and foremost, it needs to start at home.

    If you're referring to Virginia Tech Cho wasn't a teenager. There have been teenagers kill each other in the past, not just with guns, but with other lethal means at their disposal. Why do they do this? I think the only fair explanation is that the teenage years can be the most trying period of a person's life. With the hormones and social insecurity some people lose a grip on reality and snap. Others are just mentally unstable. There are plenty of other murders that don't involve young people though, so some people are just plain violent and others just live in a violent atmosphere (due to drugs, poverty, etc.)

    I think this has a lot to do with modern society. What would make a young man do this? Stress from parents demanding things that a kid can't achieve. It is a volatile age, and even a small remark to a teenage boy in front of attractive young girls would be enough to absolutely squash a soul, and leave that person feeling useless. And we all know that any person missing love from life is in serious danger. The US is a very fast moving country of multi race, and people can basically move about in anonymity, so unusual behavior would not really be noticed as terribly "unusual."

    And probably most important of all is, the gun laws in the US. I am sick to death of that stupid statement saying, "Guns don't kill, people do!" Sorry, but guns kill, and they kill damn well, and they kill damn fast. They are designed for maximum destruction on a human body. Get real.

    There are too many reasons to list here, but among them are;

    1. The ma$$ media, which has been pumping desocialization messages of violence & insecurity into society for at least 50 years now,

    2. The ready availability of all kinds of guns &

    3. The fact that the gov't is actually "by, for & of" the corporations (Amerika is really "the land of the fee & home of the slave.")

    My opinion is that the younger generation as a whole have been ruined by the older generation(yes,that means me)in our misguided attempts to give our children everything we didn't have. While having the best of intentions,what it has resulted in is a very narcissistic generation who thinks they are entitled to everything,the sun rises and sets for them. A very greedy,self centered generation,and sadly,I must bear my share of the blame for that outcome.
