What do you collect?

What types of things do you collect and why?

I collect sea shells because of an elderly neighbor that had a huge collection when I was 5 years old. I thought they were so pretty.

I collect people. I know this sounds strange. Every year I make up an e-mail group list of people I have met through the year who have inspired me or who I feel could do with a bit of a lift. I then send them little inspirations throughout the year to lift their spirits. In turn I get a lot back from people, too. And I collect fantasy figurines. Love fairies, unicorns etc.

You could try collecting banknotes (world paper money), because that's what I collect and that gives me a lot of satisfaction as I can enjoy the educational benefits of worldwide currency banknotes, and also exchange or trade them with collectors, buy them from dealers (sometimes) or from shops and I can also sell them decades later for more money to other collectors or even to investors. I have a collection of 17 thousand + different world banknotes and I am still adding more to it. I used to collect stamps, but I find larger-than-stamps banknotes to be more rewarding in experience than stamps or postcards.

I collect books, but not new once right from a bookstore. I like to gather books from antique stores, from libraries, from barggain points, from people that I know and they dont need their old books anymore. I like books that have a long life, not just being freshly printed.

I collect angels and cats, but my family would say I collect fabric and items for crafting more than I do anything else.
