Birth Control question...ADULTS ONLY?

About 2 weeks ago, I realized on a Monday morning that I hadn't taken my pill the last two nights and that Sunday night I had sex with my BF. I've taken them regularly ever since but now it's time for my period and I'm feeling funny. My stomach's been upset and there's even this little extra pooch that I've not seen before. I'm not TOO worried about it but I'm wondering if anyone's had similar experiences?? (He's 30, I'm 25, we've been tested and don't use anything and he does do his thing inside me which I allow. This is MY decision so please do not preach to me. I am well aware of my potential consequences.)

Thank You!

Update:

I know the pooch doesn't mean my belly is expanding already but I've met some women who's skin starts to stretch very early. What if I'm one of those women? Thanks for all the answers! You ladies are putting my mind at ease!

If you are worried about being pregnant, then buy the test at the drugstore, and check yourself. The one thing I would be careful about is the effects of the pill, on your body. My first wife, took the pill for 15 years, it was Ovral, and she developed breast cancer, and I lost her. I do not like the pill, as I think it can be very dangerous. The AMA, came out with some evidence that the pill, could cause cancer, but that was shut down fast, never to reappear again. Please be careful.

well when did you have your period? b/c the average time when you ovulate (release an egg) is 14 days. meaning if you started your period on May 1st, the average time women ovulate would be May 14th. although remember it's just an average. you can ovulate even later, but if your on the pill, you should be consistent with ovulation time, or might not even ovulate at all. but there are still chances, i'm not sure what they are though. an easy way to know if you ovulated or not is by taking your body basal temp, right in the morning at the same time. when you are preovulation your temp is in 97s, and usually after you ovulate, your temp rises in 98s (this is in degree farenheit) and an easier way to know if you are pregnant is if the high temp of over 98 remains for more than 18-20 days, you may be pregnant. it only takes 1 minute in the morning to take your temp, but you have to take a same time, and before you get out of bed. this will also help you later in life when you do want to have a baby too. i've missed a lot of pills during the days, and never got prego, but everyone is different. and i did feel the same stomach pains, but i think that's from missing the pill. good luck hope this helps.

If you missed two pills in a row, there is a good chance that you could become pregnant in the 7 days after missing pills. This is why your information packet that comes with the pill will tell you to use a backup method of birth control for 7 days if you miss more than one pill in a row. That "pooch" could be bloating, caused by any number of things including; pregnancy, an upcoming menstrual period, ovulation. The bad news is, you could definitely be pregnant. There is no good news.

The symptoms you are feeling are normal for pre-menstrual symptoms. Although, skipping a pill does and will increase your risk for pregnancy. You definitely would not be showing in only 2 weeks. Most first time pregnancies don't show until after 3 months and someone who has been pregnant doesn't show for about 2 months. If your really want to know there are pregnancy tests out there that can detect the first day of your missed period and a new one is out that can tell you if your pregnant 5 days BEFORE your period.

Have you taken the 2 that you missed? How long have you been on the pill. It is said, that if you have been on the pill for a long amount of time, it is harder to get pregnant. And if you would have gotten pregnant 2 wks ago, I really doubt that you would notice a "pooch" this early on....there wouldn't be much there yet. If it's time for your period....take a test just to ease your mind. Good luck...

If you've been on the pill consistently for at least a few months you should be okay (if your worried about being pregnant) it takes a while for you to get pregnant even when you come off the pill. I was on it for 5 years (almost the same situation) and 1 missed day didnt matter. Now as for your stomach issues, I'm not confident to say that I know whats going on, so I can't help you there, but if its really bad or out of the norm go see your doctor....

First of all an upset stomach could be the flu!

Did you catch up the pills you missed right away, (did you take 2 the first day you remembered and 2 the next day then back to your usual 1 a day?) If not I'd grab an EPT test and put your mind at ease. Best of luck

If you missed two pills in a row the risks of pregnancy is relatively high. Wait until the day before you start the next pack and take a pregnancy test with first morning urine. If neg start taking the next pack of pills, after a week test again.

If you still have no period next month talk to a doctor.

  • dear, calm down, two weeks is way too short of a time for you to have grown a pooch as you call it, i would say see a doctor just incase, but my personal doctor told me that it usually takes weeks to get back to a period where pregnancy is possible after taking a pill. Its probably just your mind playing tricks on you-- think about the nueva ring, or maybe the shot.. it may be easier. good luck

Two days is not enough, you also would not be showing if you are only 2 weeks pregnant my dear try 3 months. Follow the dierctions on your perscription. If you miss two doses you would double up for two days depending on which week you are into your pills. If it is the last week then you would throw the pack away and start a new one. Otherwise just double up. How long have you been on BC?
