tres leches cheesecake?
I had a tres leches cheesecake at Dos Caminos, NYC. Does anyone know how to make it. Its fantastic.
I tried this cheesecake at a resturant in NYC called Dos Caminos and it was fabulous. Thanks to all who responded.

Dulce de Leche Cheesecake
Ingredients:
1 quart whole milk
2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch cinnamon
Cheesecake
8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup dulce de leche
Prep:
SAUCE Combine ingredients in a large heavy saucepan.
Place over medium heat and cook without stirring until mixture boils, 15 to 20 minutes.
Briefly remove from heat.
Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
When mixture becomes a caramel color and is think enough that you can see the bottom of the pan as you stir, remove it from heat.
Use at room temperature or cover and refrigerate.
Yield: 2 cups CHEESECAKE Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Place cream cheese in food processor and process until soft.
With Machine running, drop in eggs, followed by heavy cream, vanilla then dulce de leche.
Place mixture in 9 inch pie dish.
Put dish in a large pan and add hot water until it comes halfway up the side of pie dish.
Place in oven and bake about an hour or until cake tester comes out clean and top is fairly firm.
Let rest one hour, then serve at once, or refrigerate, but remove from refrigerator one half- hour before serving.

Tres Leches Cake
INGREDIENTS
1 cup white sugar
5 egg yolks
5 egg whites
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 pint heavy whipping cream
10 maraschino cherries
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter and flour bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.
Beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until light in color and doubled in volume. Stir in milk, vanilla, flour and baking powder.
In a small bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Beat until firm but not dry. Fold egg whites into yolk mixture. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 to 50 minutes or until cake tester inserted into the middle comes out clean. Allow to cool 10 minutes.
Loosen edge of cake with knife before removing side of pan. Cool cake completely; place on a deep serving plate. Use a two prong meat fork or cake tester to pierce surface of cake.
Mix together condensed milk, evaporated milk and 1/4 cup of the whipping cream. Discard 1 cup of the measured milk mixture or cover and refrigerate. Pour remaining milk mixture over cake slowly until absorbed. Whip the remaining whipping cream until it thickens and reaches spreading consistency. Frost cake with whipped cream and garnish with cherries.
Dulce Tres Leches
***CAKE***
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
6 eggs -- separated
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
***SWEET MILK***
2 cans evaporated milk
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
2 ct heavy whipping cream
***FROSTING***
4 egg whites
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Cake: Beat eggs to a meringue. Add egg yolk and continue beating. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together well.
Pour into a greased mold and bake at 350F for about 1/2 an hour.
Makes about 2 Cakes
Check cake since sometimes it is done a little sooner.
Sweet Milk mixture: Mix all together and pour over cake after cake has cooled. Frosting: Cook sugar and water until they become a syrup. Beat egg whites to a meringue. Slowly add the syrup while still beating the egg whites. You must beat a lot!
