When Will Any Democratic Candidate Announce Their Plan For The War On Terror ?

From what I have seen the Democrats’ are hoping the Surge will fail (which is the first true plan by Generals – Not Bush!!!). The biggest problem is the democrats and Liberals have given the terrorists exactly what they want. In fact Terrorists recruitment has gone up in the past few months because of Congresses wellness to give up and endanger the future of our country and freedoms. But to answer when will they announce their plans - Looks like it will be after the election?

I follow terrorist’s activities around the world. My question has been about congress how long can they twist and hide the truth and facts about Islamic extremists? I believe that if they don't change their tune soon it will embolden more and more enemies. Why do I believe this? Well I have seen it happening. Most recently is Bin Laden No 2 in command telling the world and Muslim that America is a paper tiger. That they will leave, and also saying that if USA don't leave they will continue to inflict more damage on our troops. Well ever here the word Propaganda? That is something that Al Qaeda is even better at then Germans during WW2. (Why is there propaganda working better the Germans in WW2? – a few reason one is the availability of information, 2nd is the fact almost no counter propaganda is not being well employed by the Allies.) Today terrorists get 15 minutes of fame for doing bad stuff. The media plays al Qaeda videos and spread the propaganda. Also they are the ones who started the 9/11 conspiracy theories and have convinced about 35% of Americans that the propaganda is Fact. Terrorists use lies. The number one lie today is Al Qaeda says USA must leave Iraq and that USA is the insurgents or occupier.... But fact is Al Qaeda and umbrella orgs are conducting terrorist’s activities in about 60 countries. The worst are Iraq, Somalia, Nigeria, Algeria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Philippines, Indonesia, Brittan, France, Serbia, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Jordan and many more. They have even tried to kill the Dali Lama recently.

ATM When you hear Iraqis talk about the need to fight and rid Iraq of insurgents (please NOTE when Iraq and its governments and moderate citizens speak of insurgents they mean Syria Iran Egypt Etc. – Not USA – In fact Iraqis see the USA troops and more honest and liked then there own new army and police!) they are speaking about the foreign fighters, Like those from Jordan, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Egypt – The largest number of new recruits’ come from these countries. But there are about 60 countries in all. (These include USA, Britain, Canada and Australia. Approx 1-3 terrorists from these each year appear in Iraq to kill Iraqis and US personnel) Most come into Iraq through Syria. All in All there are approx. 1,000 foreign insurgents that are captured or killed in Iraq each year. About approx 1-3 year come from USA, Australia, Canada, and Britain each year. And that’s just the ones we catch!

Currently in Iraq we do have some good opportunities if given a chance. One is the major split in the IAI – “Islamic Army of Iraq”, (this group is not a part of the legitimate Iraq government but could be negotiated with based on recent intelligence). The group was under the Al Qaeda umbrella. But recently they have started to shun the views of Al Qaeda, and even reported they will start to seek out and kill Al Qaeda operatives in Iraq. We will need to wait and see how that goes or if it happens.

However the one thing no one can overlook if they look at the situation closely – If USA leaves Iraq within one year or less there will be a broader war with Syria and Iran and the other main insurgents trying to gain power of Iraq. Additionally because of the Ethnic influences of these neighboring countries Genocide of the Kurds in the North and some smaller ethic groups will be will number between approx. 500,000 to 1,000,000+ in the first 5 years. FACT! This will prove to other terrorists that they have a free reign and America is too afraid to stand up and help those who can not protect themselves against terror. It will also give Al Qaeda and other bases of operations to Train in Depth People capable of doing severe damage inside the USA, Europe, Britain, and Canada. If we do leave Iraq we will have a MUCH bigger war on our hands in about 10 main countries of current concern!

Looks like you been reading to much propaganda or you get your news from the Main Stream News Media. !st bush has acknowledged he had made mistakes but - not he is listening to the generals. Also out troops are being retrained constantly to deal with a Terrorist war. Also not only is common Iraq citizens getting fed up with the situation but they are now standing up more and more against the terrorist. But without the coalation forces to help it will be a deaft and many good Muslims will Die. So if you support Democrates run from Iraq plan there will be many good people (our current allies helping us including Iraqi civialian translators) will killed. Not to mention the genocide that will occur in the Kurdish areas that is mostly made up of VERY moderate Muslims (some of which actualy are sects of Muslim faith that hide there true beliefs to avoid being killed by Mainstream Muslims and Turkey. Talk about taking things out of content what he said was the "War on Terror" is a bumper sticker. and he is right because calling it that we can label anything as terror and their is no way to set benchmarks for success. We know the terrorist who attacked us on 9-11 El Quida. So why not call it the War on El Quidia. And then wage war on them. Want to know why the Kennedy airport thing happened today? Republicans are certainly not perfect, far from it, but they at least try to do what is right. The Democrats hide and wait for the least little thing to go wrong and then criticize it as being incompetent or wrong. If you never do anything, then you can do no wrong.

The other side of the coin is they try to spend all the money the country has to buy votes. THAT is why they are opposed to the war, it is not any abiding concern for the troops. Remember Gore trying to keep the Servicemen and women from voting in FL? The concern is that money could go to buy a bunch of votes.

Their plan for the war on terror, is to convince the American people, there is no war on terror. They would like to make the American people believe, that because WMD's were not found in Iraq then the war on terror doesn't exist. Democrats do not give our enemy the credit they earned by taking down the twin towers or crashing into the hub of our Military. It will be a great day for terrorist if Democrats win the 08 election, because their mission to kill massive numbers of infidels will be much easier

After they get ellected (if they do) in year 2012 Bin Laden already Has a plan for another large skill attack on america. I think maybe then they will wake up, that they need a military plan - and perhaps our soldiers will finally get the respect they deserve!!!!!!

Plans require dispassionate assessment AND development of possible solutiins to combat, contain or dissolve the "problem".

Most Politicians spend more time tooling their "statements" into the best way to get "support"...

A detailed "plan" would always be open to comment/ criticism BUT a slogan or determined belief that

"If elected" I will see that xxx is helped/or fixed/ or will "serve everyone "....yada,yada, "

..The way to get support is NOT what one "plans" ..its HOW one revs up the crowd with the belief that THEY "really" understand the "everyday people's" their desires/needs....

Plans are dangerous...as they may need to modified (OMG!! )based on results or new info, Better to talk about wonderful thing to come and worry about actually doing something about it later...or letting your opponent take the risk..

Dems have routinely been the champions of whatever they can sell ...for the future/for humanity/to aid the "poor/ suffering" /..........zzzzz......

I don't think we will get any answers except "popular". At this point none of them (being a true politicians) will commit political suicide. Who wants to loose prowar -democratic or anti- war republican vote?

This is why this is one of the questions that are always come up first on debates. First democratic debates, I haven't heard anyone proposing anything worthy. So, I don't know when. Only they know

i think they are rightfully putting off making any major decisions until after the minimum number of months it takes for their urine to clear elapses. which is, you know, probably a good idea. i support their stance in delaying 100%.

They haven't a clue, like so many of the responders here, they totally reject the concept of a Global War against Terror.

They are the Neville Chamberlain's of this generation. Appeasement is their plan, appeasement, and eventual surrender.

For those who bemoan that The President some how put US in the middle of a Civil War, may I remind them that Billy Boy Clinton did the same when he attacked Serbia.
