Who wins tonight?

Baseball fans win... by having two of the greatest pitchers of their generation go head to head! The added excitement of having Maddux back in the city where he had so much success, and going up against his good friend... but both pitchers are such fierce competitiors it should be exciting. I will say Braves 4-2, wtih Chipper hitting the game winning HR. Go Braves!

I hope Smoltz wins. Maddux is already a sure fire hall of famer. Smoltz still needs to win at least 200 career games in order to be a serious consideration for the hall. With his 154 saves and hopefully over 200 career wins before his career is over, he should make the hall as well. Therefore each win is very important for him.

Wow that is a grat matchup, 2 of the greatest pitchers ever to play the game. It is really tough to say which pitcher will win this one. If anything, this game will go down to the 9th inning with both pitchers going the distance but I will go with Smoltz to win the decision just because he plays with a high powered team. Maddux is getting kind of old and when it gets down to the end of the game, he will run out of steam and blow the game in the 8th or 9th inning. I am a very big Smoltz fan when he came out of the bullpen but since he has become a starter again, he has not been the greatest. Hopefully he will steal the game and come out on top.

Smoltz, I hope. I'm a Braves fan. I've enjoyed watching Maddux for years, but he needs to lose this one.

Smoltzy has more left in the tank. Maddux is crafty but I think he's at a slight disadvantage going against the Braves because they know the most about what he will try to do. It will be fun to watch though.

You're right, it is going to be quite a dual, but I think Smoltz has this one, a better fastball and is sharper, Maddux is not as sharpis he used to be.
