*CARS* Anyone know how to take off custom wheel spacers that are stuck?
Here is my dilemma I have a 1999 ford mustang gt last year i put custom inch and a quarter spacers in the rear to push out the wheels i barely drive this car and i seen it has become more of a hassel with it rubbing my fenders so i want to take them off however i have no clue i tried pounding the off, prying, wd 40, heated it up, not sure what else to do also i took off the whole brake assembly but the center hub is rusted and thats where its stuck. Any ideas. Is there a way i could cut it off any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

OK HERE WE GO. DO YOU HAVE A DIE GRINDER. PUT A CUT OFF WHEEL IN THE DIE GRINDER AND MAKE CUTS THROUGH TO THE HUB AS CLOSE TO THE CENTER AS YOU CAN THIS WILL RELEASE THE CENTER AN IT CAN BE SLIPPED OFF WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOUR DONE IS A SQUARE AS CLOSE TO THE CENTER OF THE HUB. OR TRY THIS DRILL THREE 3/8 HOLES THROUGH THE SPACER AND STOP AT THE HUB AND TAP THEM THEN TAKE 3/8 BOLTS AND AN IMPACT WRENCH AND SOCKET AND RUN THE BOLTS INTO THE HUB WHICH ACTS AS A WHEEL PULLER.

Try naval jelly, it disolves rust also hydrogen peroxide will disolve and loosen rust. once you have the rust loosened up drive a wedge between spacer and drum / rotor. use 4 wedges at 90 degree spacing.
if that does not work use an air hammer, the vibration from that should work it loose.
if you don't have an air hammer, you could use a hand grinder and grind the spacer till it frees up.

try putting it back in without the brake assy. then clean the center hub. use a file , sandpaper to remove dents, cuts and nicks. then slide the spacer out.

if you don't want the spacer I would suggest a hammer and chizel. the spacer will come off but, won't be usefull after.

WD40, give it a shot, or cool the assembly down, different densities can be helpful.
