How can I measure the amount of downloading to my pc?

I keep getting access usage bills from my provider with hardly any useage so I would like to measure how much I am downloading myself.

    There are tools you can get on the Internet, but if you don't want to have to download anything and you are using Windows OS you can look at your connection.

    At the bottom right there should be a small icon that looks like 2 computers side by side. This shows your connection to the LAN or cable modem. If you double click on it, a program will open showing you real time statistics of your current session.

    If you don't see the icon then go to

    Start

    Settings

    Network Connections

    You will see your network connections. Double click on the one that is connected and being used. If you want to see it in your tray next time, right click on it and choose properties. At the bottom you can check mark the two options to show it when connected and not connected.

    This is only since you last connected. Track it at the end of an average the day and multiply by the number of days you use it to get an approximation for the month.
