Actually, "Kyle es mi hermano menor" is ambiguous, as it implies that you could have other brothers that are younger than you. If you want to convey that Kyle is your youngest brother of them all, you could say:
Kyle es mi hermano más pequeño.
Or
Kyle es mi hermano más joven.

What about:
"Kyle es el menor de mis hermanos" (literally: Kyle is the youngest of my brothers). Kinda same, and no place for ambiguity

It could be either
Kyle es mi hermano menor (in this case, it is understood that you have only one youngest brother)
or
Kyle es el menor de mis hermanos (Kyle is your youngest brother, but you can also have other brothers who are younger than you)

Jassy is right, because the sentence contains a superlative.
Kyle es el más pequeño de mis hermanos
Kyle es mi hermano más pequeño
