Have you ever bought a car for less than $1000?

YES... my very first car... I was 16.. and had $300... I got it for $250... and it ran great for me for two years... I may have put about another $200 into it over those two years.. but it rocked.

I also learned a LOT about cars driving it!

Yes, a 1989 Cavalier for my daughter. I only paid $200.00 for it. She drove it for a couple of months, then the passenger door window quit working. It wasn't long after that, then the fuel pump went out. It sat in my garage next to my own car for about 4 months when we decided to park it in front of my house with a "For Sale" sign on it. Quite a few men stopped to look at it. After one man decided to buy it, "as is" for $300.00 and gave me cash, saying he would return for the car in 2 days, I had 2 other fellows stop and offer me money for the darn thing. (I had also given the first man who had paid me, the title to the car). It was obviously not worth much more than the original amount I paid for it. I guess you basically get what you pay for. :o) lol

Many times! In fact the car I drive now I bought for $800.00. It's a '95 Ford Taurus and in great shape.

Yes, twice - the first time it was a disaster!! The car was a total piece of junk that didn't last a week.

The second time it was much better. It lasted us for three years when we donated it to a charity.

Yes, paid $750 for it. Was proud because it was the first car i ever bought by myself.

Yes, once bought a car, in college, for $25.00. It lasted about a year.

the first 20 cars i owned cost under 100. i would leave them on the side of the road if they got a flat tire.

I've never bought a car! (or truck, or van, or jeep, or anything else for that matter). I am a vehicle virgin. And at my advanced age, I'm not sure if that is bragging rights, or just pathetic. :)

Yes a Ford Pinto and when I totalled it I was glad I hadn't spent more.
