Something is wrong with my computer...?

Um, so like my computer has something wrong with it. I dont know if its a virus or spyware or what, but everytime I try to type in www.yahoo.com it comes up to this site that says stuff about my computer, like my ip address and it says that something is wrong with my computer. So i click on the stuff that it says it can fix it, like antivirus and spyware things, and it "scans" my computer...but when it shows me a list of things on my computer, i have to buy the product to get rid of the infected files.Plus, at the bottom of my screen by my clock is this little white ? mark in a blue circle that keeps blinking. but everytime it blinks it shows that aymbol and then a circle with a line through it. It wont go away, and my normal scanners say there is nothing on my computer! IM so confused! Help?

Finally in your last and final line was the key piece of information to answer your question!

Spylocked is one of the latest variants of the Smitfraud spyware infection. Below is a link to complete removal instructions.

How to remove SpyLocked (Removal instructions using the free Smitfraud Fix removal tool):

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic85376....

Most "general-purpose" anti-malware programs such as Norton, AVG, AdAware, etc. can not or will not remove this pest Smitfraud. And most who would tell you such, have no actual factual information. They are simply touting there favorite anti-virus or anti-spyware as as "cure for everything".

BTW, SpyLocked often gets installed when someone goes to view a video at a "not-so well-known" website. The website will say that a "special" codec is needed to view it, and asks to download it to you. If you allow the download, you will NOT be downloading a codec, you will actually download a trojan called Zlob. The moral is, never allow a website to download "stuff" unless it's a well known and respected site. And oh yeah, that video would have played just fine without that "special" codec! P2P downloads using programs such as Limewire have also been known to be infected with Spylocked.

    Good luck!

BTW, Oddballs link will work too.

This sounds like a real nasty and insidious virus that my sister had a while ago. Unfortunately, I can't remember the site where she found a program to clean it.

She kept searching the net until she found one. I think it could only be loaded in DOS and then it cleans the virus off the computer.

If it's the same virus, or something similar, it can pass through any anti virus software and none of them can find it when they do a search.

Also when you try to right click the virus's icon, it sends you to it's own web site.

I hate these creeps who create viruses, they should be boiled in oil.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but my sister kept trying until she found the cure somewhere on the internet. There will be bogus offers too as there always are on the net.

And there is always reformatting, but that is always a last resort.

    good luck.

I think you have a browser hijacker. Its a little annoying thing that redirects your browser to make it go to some other web page. Its another form of adware virus.

Ok, sometimes this things are easy to get rid of, and sometimes they are not.

    The easy way: go to

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_pe... and download Ad-aware. Install it and run it. If it doesn't get rid of the thing. try rebooting in safe mode (press F8 when the computer starts up, before you get the windows screen). and once you are in safe mode, run ad-aware again.

The hard way is to get hijackthis and 'manually' remove the hijacker. To guide you on how to do this, visit http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial... .

Good luck. Ad-aware is pretty good, i hope that's enough.

This sounds like it may be a Vundo trojan infection. The worst part about this trojan is normally Symantec and LavaSoft won't remove it. I've enclosed a couple of links that will take you through the process of removing this...but I will warn you...it's gonna be kind of long and painful. It's going to require you downloading some software and running it in safe mode, so be sure to print out the instructions, because you won't have any internet connection when your in safe mode.

    Good Luck!

There a dozens of removal tools for specific types of malware. To determine the one you need we need to know exactly what the Window says and the web site and program it refers you to.

the stuff you clicked on is the virus...you need to get an antivirus fast...i suggest investing in adware away....i beleive they have a free trial that will get rid of it for you....you can also try adaware...that is free....it may get rid of it if its spyware and not a virus

Um, so like what is the name of the program it wants you to purchase?

From your description you may have a Homepage/Browser hijacker. Here is a site that removes many Hijackers.

You are infected by something like WarningIEpage.com.

If yes try to remove it manually or use removal tool

WarningIEpage.com is a website that generate false security messages, telling that your computer is infected by trojan horses and worms. WarningIEpage.com can hijack and redirect your browser and your searches. WarningIEpage.com can be installed by trojan horse (usually trojans from Zlob family).

Get an Anti-Spyware such as Windows Defender or AVG Anti-Spyware.

AVG Anti - Spyware can be downloaded from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5 and click on "avgas-setup-7.5.0.50.exe" or "avg75free_467a1008.exe" for a Anti-Virus. Windows Defender can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?Fa...
