Can you help me locate a CFL E17 base lamp bulb?
I have searched everywhere and every way, and can only find a DC version on an Australian website.
This is for a small ceiling fan that calls for an E17 size bulb base, larger than a candelabra base and smaller than the standard incandescent bulb base.
I already have an incandescent bulb. I want to replace it with a compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL).
I hope to find one in the range between 3 watts and 12 watts.
Thank you for any CERTAIN, FOR SURE sources.
I have already searched every lamp bulb superstore I can find.

The biggest hazard is disposal of the bulb. I support in this bulb usage as it conserves huge amount of energy and the brightness it gives it is a big boon to energy conservation. The disposal of this CFL bulb is only a microscopic view of a huge problem. Since there are vast number of electronic and electrical devices available, these devices has some form of toxic chemical or the other. Hence if you have visited Ritchie street in Chennai you could have come to know the scale of the issue. Not only mercury but also plastics in various beautiful sizes and patterns. For the CFL problem it could be solved by finding an alternative environmental friendly chemical which could replace mercury. For an immediate action, I have read a report in The Hindu(do not know the date)where they found that disposal of Electronic scrap is becoming an area of concern. Hence a proper disposal of e-waste policy/law should be drafted. Like a disposal of medical waste in Hospital Thanks for Bala sir for asking this question since I wanted to share this point for a long time

Go to a superstore(HD) and have them get the big book of special order bulbs. You may have a hard time finding a knowledgable person about this, but there are thousands and thousands of bulbs that they can get that they cannot stock for space reasons.
