Good books about Atheism?
Besides Dawkins, can you suggest any good books regarding Atheism. And name a few famous Athiests that you know of please. Thanks
Christians, you can stop answering this question. Stop trying to convert people. I'm glad you found happiness in God, I haven't, so give it up.

Daniel Dennett has a couple of really good ones. They're not really about atheism - neither is Dawkins' book, as I understand it - but they will help you to understand why people do not believe in god.

Ones I've already read: The God Delusion God: The Failed Hypothesis The Atheist Universe god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything The Atheist's Are Revolting Ones I own but have yet to read: The Moral Animal: Why We Are the Way We Are The Ancestor's Tale Darwin's Dangerous Idea (reading this one now) Consciousness Explained Ones I plan to get later: The End of Faith Atheism, Morality and Meaning The Blind Watchmaker Value and Virtue in a Godless Universe The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan Letter to a Christian Nation Breaking the Spell The Selfish Gene Hope this can get you off to a good start; I recommend starting with The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. The best thing someone can do for themselves is change their mind or way of thinking; and these books will do that left and right :-)

Not actually about atheism, but I would strongly recommend A. N. Wilson's books Jesus and Paul. Wilson is, if not an atheist, an agnostic, and his books are biographies about these two men from that point of view. I should probably say attempts at biographies, since he makes clear in Jesus in particular how it's virtually impossible to distinguish fact from myth in the gospels.
He gets a little carried away at times, but the books are worth reading for the beauty of his writing if nothing else.

How can there be books about something that doesn't exist or ARE YOU NOW AGREEING that Atheism is a belief system or neo or quasi religious sect.
I mean. The book on Atheism should read: God doesn't exist. The End.
What is the PURPOSE of going on and on and on.
When you have to resort to Rhetoric, it means you have a DEBATABLE situation.
It also lends credibility to the OTHER side by acknowledging THEIR viability.

"The Age of Reason" or one of your local public school history books. At least that has been my belief after reading them. Try "The Rewriting of America's History"

Why should we give it up? Isnt it the same thing when someone says, this is for Christians only and an atheist pipes up with his God is not real junk. Good day

You could try Christopher Hitchens' latest: 'God is not great'. I think I can guarantee a good read.
