What do you call a person who submits to authority without questioning it?
For example, a person who listens to whatever a doctor has to say just to conform to society.

a pushover or someone who is accepting the facts as the easiest possible alternitive. Simply accepting a doctors answer limits exposure to the subject making the situation simpler and easier, less stressful. People do the same thing all the time from bosses to mechanics.

An average American. We're indoctrinated from the time we're able to talk to listen to out parents(for our own safety and well-being), and also people who are perceived to be in positions of authority (police, doctors, priests, teachers...because they, too are looking out for our best interests). I hate to bring up this comparison because it's so unfairly overused, but that was the Nazis' defense during the Nuremberg Trials, they were just doing what they were told.

Normal.
Social psychology has shown that most people do exactly what they are told to do without question. It doesn't make someone a "sheep" or "stupid" or a "pushover"--it makes them normal.
