Read this article on Bush and Iraq?

Update:

Wow, some people are really closed minded and partisan. Nowhere in there does he say to pull out, he argues neither for nor against the war. If you had read that with an open mind youwould have seen that.

When communism was recognized as a threat and the US poured enormous resources into combating it over a 50 year period was there a yardstick, or a commitment. Being committed and succeeding at it means that you have to be fluid and adjust as the situation changes and adjusts to your adjustments.

In other words, the political party of islam is more tenacious then the democratic party and they and the republicans know it. (that's why radicals congratulated americans for voting in a democratic congress)

The fluidity of the western world regarding their willingness to kill radicals and bring political islam to it's knees is the "yardstick" that we will use to measure success.

Let me give you some advice. Some corporate coach writing an article in absolute terms about his individual clients and comparing it to the war that's raging around the world regarding the islamic political terror party doesn't mean he's right. Let's have him write an article about the British in WW2 and the inspiration those people received from a tenacious bulldog named Winston Churchill.

Try to inform yourself about the complexity of the disease that is infecting the world under the guise of a repressive and violent religion, and then ask yourself, should we ignore it or should we be fluid?

Withdrawing with a time table is ludicrous beyond belief.

yes, that's a nice rhetorical piece.

however, shifting strategies or, lowering standards is never in of itself evidence of total failure. how many of us have had our eye upon the stars to find ourselves sitting on moon instead. we adapt to the situation and set our sights on renewed goals that are perhaps, not as glamorous as stars, but nonetheless worth our effort.

bush's assertion that a reduction in secular violence is now sitting in his cross hairs, is indeed a worthy cause especially, among all the evidence that that goal is in fact being achieved and responsibility for such advancement is in deed being transferred upon the iraqi people.

Interesting but, you forget that for Bush and Cheney the war has been a very lucrative success. As long as it continues to make big oil and defense contractors, it will be deemed an ongoing success by Bush.
