How often can i bathe my puppy?

A maltese should be groomed every 6 weeks. Instead of doing it yourself, You should get him professionally groomed. Not only do they bathe him, But they will prevent mats and keep him nicely trimmed. They'll do his ears and trim his nails. They'll wash his eyes and brush his teeth. All of this for usually a pretty good price. PetSmart has a good puppy package. Give them a call.

I would recommend to bathe your puppy once every month...Although if there is something stuck in his/her fur then I would bathe the puppy then as well...Do not increase the bathing because they can cause dryness and irritation to the puppies skin! I have a Maltese and they can get into some big messes so you can also try (extra) gentle baby wipes for him/her...When the bath is finshed brush him/her coat about 2-4 times or until silky...

Tip: If your dog is a long-haired dog then bathe him/her once every 2 weeks depends on how long the hair is...Try not to bathe your dog too many tiimes like once a week because that drys dogs skin or pretty much any animals...

I bathe my dogs at least every other week and I own Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese the hair dryer can not dry the skin out. I dry all my dogs or it would take forever to get them dry and as you already know I am sure they want to play. Just use a good vet recommended shampoo and be sure you do not get the dryer to hot. A puppy salon that bathes and grooms your puppy will tell you what to use as well and they use dryers and drying crates to dry the dogs, some are groomed weekly.

Believe it or not youshould bathe the dog once a month. I have a six month german sheperd. I bathe him every week until the vet said only once a month. My poor dog was clean but very dry and had very dry skin. The vet said to use dog wipes and they also sell spray for the dogs. Look into petsmart or other pet stores for these items. I asked the same question when my puppy was one month old. I would bathe him once a week become so dry and didnt know why now I know why. good luck

We give our mutt dog (its a beagle dalmation mix) baths every 2-3 weeks depending on the tempature. just remember either have large space for them to run around and dry off in or dry them really well, not with hair dryers though they freak out and its bad for their skin

If you are washing your dog once a week, like a majority fo these people are, you have to worry about drying your dogs skin out... What you can do is wash once a week, but brush EVERY DAY.... brushing helps bring the oils of the skin out so they dont get too dry... Also use an OATMEAL shampoo it will help with the drying... i wash my Wheaten Terrier every few weeks... I dont wash him to often or he scratches like a nut,,, i brush him every day and I believe this helps keep him clean. you can also buy wipes to help with the between baths and moisturizing sprays....

Your actually not supposed to bathe them every week because the hair and skin will get dry. I try to bathe mine every 2 weeks ( I know it gets hard because they get dirty so fast lol)

if you are bushing her first before the bath. then you only need to bath the dog every 6 weeks. is she long haired or have you had her cut down short? as a dog groomner in your town what they would tell you.

Once a week is good. Brush its hair 4 times a day though for the soft long sleek look. It must be brushed at least once a day to prevent knots.

about once a month is good because if you bathe your puppy to much you will dry out it's skin.
