The Promised Land?

They recently found a copy of the Hebrew Bible wherein the Children of Israel were promised a star-shaped land called "Friend". They would, however, have to cross the great ocean to arrive there. In their fear of the water, though, they refused. God was disappointed but gave them Israel as consolation (He still had compassion).

In the text, the land was referred to as "Lone Star" and other such gaudy titles. Its inhabitants were to be blessed, and the land a land of many cattle. While the scholars debate the meaning of the newfound scroll, dubbed PQ123, religious groups in Texas have already seized on the opportunity to advance the truth of the promised land on account of its similarities to the state.

Could Texas really be the promised land?

Abraham (Abram) was in the heart of the area, sometimes referred to as the West Bank, between Bethel and Ai, in the mountains of Israel (Eze.37:22), when the Lord promised him the Land (Gen.13:17). The boundaries of the Land promised to Abraham were from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates (Gen.15:18).

The promise passed from Abram to Isaac to Jacob and to his seed after him, a multitude of people (Gen.17:`9, Gen.28:3-4, Gen.28:13).

I'd be happy to give it to them for a Judenstatt just to clean up this mess they've made in the mideast with their weird turn-of-the-century Russian- Zionist baloney. Besides, fair is fair. Europeans and third-worlders have been saying for years since we're the one who are so gung-ho for a Jewish state and we have so much territory, why not give them a chunk of ours? By all means, let's give them Texas. Besides,it's almost totally populated by fundamentalist pseudo-Christians who are arguably more jewish than Christian theologically - they are basically messianic jews as far as I'm concerned - but at the least it is undenial that the whole state is about as rabidly pro-Zionist as you can get. It's Bush country, you know and increasingly home-turf for neo-cons and wacky groups like the Lubavitchers. Texan,The New Zion? Hey - already I AM LOVING IT!

Sound like an interesting discovery,by the way. Do keep us posted.
