I am not sure what you want when you designation...if your talking about sizes/uses/engine serial numbers?
The wankle is a rotory motor, instead of using pistons inside the motor there are large triangular rotors that are hooked onto a shaft that turns. They are counterbalanced, on the shaft. I can't explain it in engineering detail, but they are more efficient in how they work. There downfall currently is 1) They don't produce lots of torque and as such need to be rev'ed up high to get maximum power and 2) They cost a lot more to produce than a piston engine. They have pros of 1) more efficient, 2) Less moving pieces.....

wankle invented the rotary engine and sold the patent to mazda years ago. Then Ford bought mazda. The rotary engin is used in many different devices today including lawn mowers.

The seals are less tight so they burn more crank case oil as part of the lubrication system.
Bad gas mileage.
