Need to know where the CMOS battery is on my laptop?
It is a Gateway M520 Notebook. Called and emailed Gateway and they will not tell me where it is. They want me to send it to them and spend $300.00 dollars for them to do it.

To find out where the CMOS Battery of your Laptop computer is , you will either have to open the computer and look for it on the motherboard or you can take it to a good repair shop and have them find it for you.
That being said you should know that normally the Laptop Battery or even that of the Desktops do not go bad easily. So essentially you do not need to even look for it. If it has really gone bad or if you need to reset your BIOS password then the above two are the only options you have. If you know how to take off the Keyboard of the Laptop then probably you could find it out yourself. Normally it is somewhere under the keyboard.

It's inside the laptop, on the motherboard. Do a google search for "laptop cmos" or something related

try going to not to gateway, but just a local computer repair shop.. can save you a lot of money.
